The artist is presenting a number of artworks, including 'Round Midnight,' 'Slot Machine' and 'Luzzu Towers.' In his art, the artist encompasses moments of reality in a composition that depicts the emotions of the subject and locks a time-frame onto the canvas. Through this exhibition, the artist shows his vision of his experiences and deconstructs the shapes of reality to invite the viewers into other realms of possibilities.
The Solo exhibition by G. Luigi Rossi was welcomed in the city of Trapani in the prestigious Palazzo Pappalardo. G. Luigi Rossi was invited by Soprintendenza BB.CC.AA. di Trapani and endorsed by Dipartimento Regionale dei Beni Culturali e dell'Identità Siciliana. 'Round Midnight' is the title of the painting by G. Luigi Rossi dedicated to the Fall of the Berlin Wall. The painting is a tribute to the city of Leipzig where the artist has lived for several years. The artist was inspired by the night in Leipzig on 9th October 1989; the work is in Oils on Denim depicting visions of the atmosphere during the peaceful "Wir sind das Volk" candlewalks.
In year 2016 during a visit in Einhoven, Holland, the artist encountered a Jeans-Maker who supplied the artist with the denim canvas. Rossi envisioned the atmosphere he experienced years before in Leipzig, and depicted the bright and vivid colours of new beginnings onto the deep blue of the canvas. Through a striking palette of high hues contrasting the dark canvas, the artist finds balance around a new rising day. His spontaneous brush stroke captures the limitless possibilities of freedom, creating a world of harmony throughout colour and shapes. The energy of a new movement which shaped the new era is felt in the tonalities of the painting which transmits an invitation to the viewer to search for more possibilities. The artwork was finished in 2017. As an artist, G. Luigi Rossi continues to challenge the art of creativity in connection to the power of human emotion. |
